Homebrew supplies forum

Just stumbled upon this website. Great idea to have a forum! You should also have a forum for homebrew supplies for sale or exchange or to give away.

I only mention this because I recently moved to this area and gave away all of my homebrew supplies--thinking I wouldn't have time to brew up here. But I now have the itch, so if anyone has some extra bottles, brewpots, fermentation buckets/carboys for sale or to give away to another homebrewer please let me know.  Thanks a lot!

cheers,

Dan

Supply Run?

Anyone making a run to a supply store. I need some ingredients and want to brew this weekend (I don't have a car). I'd like to check out the local stores.

Thanks!

Supply Run and Maibock

Supply Run and Maibock Brewing: This is Martin, and you may or may not have met me from the first two meetings. I plan on making a supply run this Saturday to MyLHBS in Seven Corners, Virginia. I also plan on making a Maibock style lager this Saturday after the supply run. I expect to go to the store in the early afternoon and start cooking the wort shortly after my return, but I can be somewhat flexible on this schedule. If anyone is interested in a ride to the store, I could probably take a maximum of 2-3 people from somewhere near the Ballston metro stop in Virginia. Also, if anyone is interested in watching the brewing process for a basic mostly-extract lager beer, let me know. I would prefer a response via a hotmail email to the user name "industrialgreen" so that we can iron out the details.

Mike - Will there be a forum set up in the future for unofficial meetings or supply runs or is it best to place these types of posts in the free homebrew supplies forum?

i'm looking into a better forum system, since this is a really messy way to do things. looking into how to synch a forum up with our current logins so we don't need 2 logins etc. is that what you mean? or do you just want a new 'forum' section...

currently this is the best place to post....

It's at 7 corners, across the street from the Dogfish Head Brewpub.

I suggest a bucket, a 5 gal glass carboy, a 6.5 gal glass carboy, a 5 gal+ steel pot, some tubing, air locks etc. Ask for a starting setup, but all glass fermenters, nice easy to clean, hard to infect. For free bottles, I suggest hosting homebrew club meetings at your apartment, the scheme is working for me!

also Brian and I seem to end up at MyLHBS every other weekend or so. So if you need a ride...
