Ginger Ale

I know Mike has a recipe for fermented Ginger Ale. I've talked to bartenders that have made "quick" versions where they just use a soda siphon to force-carbonate ginger-infused syrup. Anybody tried either method? Recipes?
In hindsight, calling somebody Mike in this club really doesn't mean anything. There are way too many of you. We need nicknames.

As another Mike who makes
As another Mike who makes ginger ale I’ll throw my method out there as well. I’ve been playing with ginger beer plant (reusable jelly like microbial colonies), it makes a lightly tart ginger ale in a couple of days (~2 days to ferment, 1 to carbonate, and 1 to chill). My recipe is about the same as Ad-Rock’s except that I heat the ginger with some water and let it sit for an hour then strain out the ginger before mixing the rest of the ingredients with the ginger juice.

I’ll bring a liter to the next meeting for people to try.

It takes really only one day to make, which seems pretty quick to me.
