Berliner Weisse
Submitted by oldsock on Fri, 05/30/2008 - 10:59.
If anyone is interested, here is a blog post with the recipe and brewing notes for the no-boil Berliner Weisse I brought last night: http://madfermentationist.blogspot.com/2008/02/berliner-weiss.html
Glad most people seemed to like it, I'll be bringing some of my other sour beers to future meetings.

Thanks for having Mr. Evans
Thanks for having Mr. Evans and I over, Mike. I really learned a lot about all-grain and Belgian sours. I think one of the best aspects of this budding club is the opportunity to break off into smaller groups and learn from each other directly and on-location. Hopefully more people will offer to show some of the untutored how-to.
This Berliner Weiss was
This Berliner Weiss was perhaps the best homebrewed beer I've ever had. If you are brewing anything remotely similar to it in the next few months I'd really like to watch the process. Moving to Boston at the end of the summer and planning to go all-grain shortly thereafter, so if anything is in the works soon, let me know!
Man, thanks! I’ve got one
Man, thanks!
I’ve got one more brew to squeeze in before the summer heat puts me out of commission. I’m hoping to get it in this Sunday, if you are interested in joining in shoot me an email: michael.tonsmeire@gmail.com (I live by the zoo). Not that it is going to be too close to the Berliner, but it will be a sour beer, essentially an extra high gravity Flanders Oud Bruin.
Depending on when you are moving we could also meet up in Boston, I actually brew/store most of my sour beers up there at my parents' house to keep them out of sight and out of mind. I’ll be up there the middle of August for a week and will be blending/bottling a 2 year old lambic and a 1 year old Flanders pale ale and brewing my second batch of lambic.
